So I noticed that when I'm playing guitar standing up (which I only just started doing) as I start doing 3nps scales or whatever at about the 14th fret and up, I have to tilt the guitar more and more vertically cause the stock gets in the way of my hand . So I guess I'm wondering, is it considered proper form to tilt your guitar as you start playing higher and higher or do I just have to stretch more and just accept it?

The proper classical guitar posture includes holding the guitar at a 45 degree angle (propped on the left knee with the footstool helps this), so there's a lot of truth behind an angled guitar and better fingering. I usually play with my guitars and basses tilted like this when standing.

I also realised that,as a matter of fact my fingers aren't long enough to reach the upper frets at the low E string. Also it was giving me pains. So the thing I could do is either tilt, or the other was to shorten my strap to raise the guitar. A bit long ago I thought it was cool to have the guitar low down, but now i know that it isn't effective.

allright thanks for your help. *sigh* I guess I'll have to raise the strap. I want to look cool with the guitar hanging down low though  .

Forget looking cool, all you need to kick some @$$ are some pyrotechnics and the ability to break everything on stage. Even in a tiny coffee house it is very important that you set fire to everything and demolish the place.. After that no one will make any comments on how your posture is:D

Yeah I know. That was my attempt at being sarcastic...I guess, meaning I wasn't serious about the looking cool thing

There was a guy playing guitar at jam night last night and everybody at the bar was snickering at him and making comments because he had a big huge goatee and was really scrawny, and he closed his eyes the whole time he played. He was also jerking around as if he was having a musical seizure. About 1 minute into his set, he proceeded to shut everbody up as he launched into a flurry of face-melting guitar solos. After everyone picked their jaws off the floor after Voodoo Child, noone was laughing.
