Always With Me, Always With You, for those unfamiliar with the Satchman.I was having trouble trying to not hit the G string while tapping this piece with my index. I usually rest my middle finger against the underside of the neck to mute the high E, but the G string hates me! I did find that it sounded good when I used my thumb to mute it while muting the high E with the middle finger, but, I shouldn't have to resort to this awkward technique, should I? Any tips for muting that blasted G string, or avoiding hitting it all together? Thanks!

I rest my tappin hand on the bottom 4 strings and mute the high E with my left hand as my move it up and down the fretboard.

In this song, I normally rest the base of my palm on the bottom 4 strings (Bottom E to G) such that they are all muted. When I'm tapping, I normally use my middle finger. But I guess it shouldn't make a difference if you are using your index finger too I suppose.

Maybe you should try pulling off towards the ground as Satch does in his tapping interlude found in Satch Boogie...if you have seen him playing this part, you may have noticed that he pulls off towards the ground...and not upwards...like most tappers...Nuno Bettencourt also does the tapping pull offs that way.

My right hand's not the problem at all. Sorry, I shouldv'e explained further. It's my bloody left hand as it moves laterally. I guess you could be talking about the right too there, but for clarity it's my left hand.
