technique question

Here's the deal: when you're playing The C note on your high E, followed by B(12th fret) on your B string and keep on repeating that pattern do you have to lift up your pinky for that B note or can it stay there while you're repeating the pattern over and over???

Well, it depends on how fast you play it and what kind of sound you want. I´d actually raise the finger that frets the C ever so slightly ( release the pressure so it doesn´t actually fret the note anymore ) so the C is muted. With some practice, you´ll get used to that, and you´ll have two separate notes, without them riniging into each other
