Does anyone know where I can get a tab for Racer X - Catapult To Extinction? I did a google search and could not find one...

Isnīt that on the "Getting Heavier" album ?
I doubt that there is any TAB book on that one, not even in Japan ( you can find TAB books of "Superheroes" and "Technical Difficulties" there, though ). So it might be tough to find a TAB anywhere. I saw some partial TABs of GH-songs, but not of that one, unfortunately.
Maybe you wanna try slowing it down with some audio-software and try to figure out the riffs and chords yourself ? I did that when a student of mine wanted to learn "Empty Man" ( very cool song ). I slowed it down quite a bit and worked on the main riffs and figured out the chord progressions. Once I had set it to about 66 -75 % of the original tempo, it was a bit easier
Sorry I canīt help you with any links or anything

I have been using amazing slow downer to try and slow this down. I have it streatched to 153% which I think is way less than 50% the speed and "holy kamoly" is it hard to figure out what the heck he is doing even at that speed. I am trying to get that intro riff and it is just blazing fast!! It sounds to me like he is using a pedal tone (e on the high e string) and tapping the 7th and 2nd fret initially.

This is what I have so far... Is this even close? I am tapping with my right hand at the 7th fret and I think it is all tapping at this point...Is that correct or does PG use that much tapping? I have not looked at a lot of his music...I am only into the intro riff so far...

OK...here is my latest version...I am still not sure this is correct but it kind of sounds correct. I made some changes from my last version. There are some really fast notes in there. It amazes me all the details he puts in there that you really can't hear at full speed!!

I have put together a tab that can be found here ....
It has the majority of parts with a few issues on timing, but apart from that, it should get you through the whole song ...

Hey, great stuff, very cool that you took the time to tab the tune and are willing to share. I might have a look at it in a little while, and I hope John and the other Racer X fans on this board do get to see the link, I am sure it will be helpful to a lot of people

There are like a gazillion other PG-related tabs there, so everyone interested in that should take a look =)

I was wondering how you'd progressed with the tune in two years John?
I imagine you play it your sleep now no?

Sorry - probably should have started a new thread! It's just I'd had this book marked for ages in the hope someone somewhere would produce a tab ... now I've decided to do it since having the time. The guy over at the Racer X forum has done a great job compiling his own and other tabs in that thread
