Tapping question

I can tap with a pick fine, and I dont really need to learn how to tap with a finger but i'd just like to be able to do it in case. Now whenever I try to tap with my finger the tapped note sounds wierd, almost as though i just tapped that note and a note sharp or flat of it at the same time. Maybe it won't work because I have long fingernails for classical guitar? Don't know...

Also as a little side question, ive been working on chop builders and getting em down pretty good now I want to find a cool short maybe 30 second-1 minute etude that will help out with my speed and sound nice, somethin just to put al lthese chops to use for now. Anyone know of any?

Ahh pick tapping isn't real tapping use your fingers man. You can't really pull of with a pick. You should keep the nail just long enough. You have to hammer on and pull off. You can use your middle finger thus erasing the need to put away your pick you can still hold it. I hold my pick with my middle finger anyways so I use my index to tap unrestricted.
