Just started learning about this at uni - anyone got any tips, tricks or websites.

I know the M*A*S*H theme is pentatonic hehehe

You're most fundamental pentatonics are the major pentatonic: (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 1), and minor pentatonic; (1, b3, 4, 5, b7, 1). Obviously the first is a major tonality and the second minor. You can build chords from these and mostly they are sus chords. Don't know much about hexatonics. One I hear frequently is 1, 2, b3, 4, 5, b7, 1, (minor pentatonic with 2nd).
Listen for these in melodies and riffs, you'll hear them frequently!
