Floating???

Since I'm from Belgium I was wondering what the term floating (hand) actually means??

For me it's like flying but controlled if you know how to do it

That means you pick with your whole hand off the guitar - dont touch anything with your palm or fingers. Some people like to do that but with the palm touching the strings near the bridge for balance.
