Its a topic im interested in at the moment. I've had some tingling in my wrist and forearm (just a little in my hand) and my knuckles on my left hand are killing me. It feels like I have arthritis in my knuckles. I'm going to have to stop playing for a few days and see if it goes away. I thought it might be carpal tunnel syndrome but it doesn't seem to be in the areas described.

Just take breaks inbetween your practise sessions. Don't go too long at a time. Once something starts feeling wrong, just take a break for 30 minutes or so.

I've only hurt myself trying to learn how to play thumb-over-neck blues-rock stuff - I watch my hands very closely when training, and all I ever get is the occasional burn from muscles being pushed to the limit, and I've been told that the burning thing is good. It would be helpful to know how you positioned your hands and what you were playing, but in any case it's essential to take enough breaks. Washing your hands in warm water for a few minutes also helps before starting and during breaks, especially if your hands start feeling a little cold.

The burning is a good thing, it's basically the tearing of muscle tissue and then the build up of Lactic acid in the muscle tissue, this is what the body uses to rebuild and repair the muscle tissue. Think of it like this, it's like ripping a piece of paper and then repairing it with paper mache, then rip it again and repair the same way. Each time you make a repair there is a slightly larger build up of muscle tissue, thus strengthening all affected muscles!

Be careful with the tingling! Could be tendon damage etc. if it persists see your GP.

I didn't play at all yesterday and the tingling hasn't happened since early yesterday. My knuckles are still sore though.

I've pinched nerves in my right forearm due to wrong wrist movements. I just put some Bengay on my forearm and sleep it off. The next day my arm feels 100%.
