How to get this sound?

Hi,

I've been playing for nearly 4 years now, and i'm really into rush, and I was wondering if anyone could help in my quest for getting a sound closer to alex lifeson's?

My current gear is:

1979 Marshall JMP2203 head
Orange 4x12 cab
2002 gibson les paul standard
2003 gibson les paul supreme
mxr 10 band-eq
mxr wylde overdrive
mxr distortion+
crybaby

I dont have any reverb, I think I need one, but I really want lifeson's great rhythm sound, it's so tight, and its not so dirty that it makes the cleans or open strings sound mushy? could anyone offer some advice?

Don't know his gear setup, but I know he used a lot of chorus effects on the earlier albums and a semi hollow body guitar for the last half...
