I've been going through a legato excercise article, and I noticed that when I go backwards (pull offs, while picking also) I go a lot slower...and my fingers seem to have trouble coordinating. I think if I fix this I could get a lot faster and it'd help my technique tons..I was just wondering if anyone had some excercises for this or any advice. Thanks.

The way I would attack it is this :
Play chromatics (1234) starting from the Top E string with all four fingers on the neck.
So, pinky on fret 4, ring finger fret 3, middle finger fret 2, index fret 1.
Then decend the scale removing one finger at a time whilst leaving the other ones there making sure that you hit every note cleanly.
Do variations on this moving up and down the neck using combinations of patterns you want to work on.
Also only work on the stuff your not so good at - so in your case (and mine) I am weaker desending a scale from the top E string - so just practise that...invent some warm up excercises featuring this too - get into the habit that its the 1st and last things you do whilst practising.
Get a metronome and repeat the above for the next 10 years / 2 failed marriages, bayliffs, appear !

Cool.
I have exactly the opposite problem LOL. i.e. I'm much faster PO than HO.
The brain and hand co-ordination eh? A funny old game.
An exercise like Eastwoods is excellent! But time is of the essence.
The amount of time I get at the moment to practice I'd be lucky to even get the geetar out of it's case!
