I'm pretty sure he means the guitar books you can buy..there's like grade 1-10 I think. And I really don't know the answer to this one.

Do you mean royal conservatory?

if so then most of it is just knowing the repetoir out of the grade 6 book...pretty self explanitory. That, and your scales, arpeggios etc. I remember some classical students at school mentioning very specific scales that they had to learn, like 3 octave shapes and whatnot, but I'm sure that is probably explained in one of the books as well.

For examinations, they change the criteria every couple years to make all the teachers buy new books...so unless you find someone that has just taken the test, I would advise looking for their website and giving them a holler yourself.

He might mean the UK RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) grades? These are "contempary/rock" style grades, you can find the requirements with a google.

EDIT: here you go: http://www.registryofguitartutors.co.uk/exams/electric/eggrade6.htm

Chords
Rythmn Playing
