Hi Friends..
I've seen this forum (the guitar technique forum) and read some threads..
Well.. isnt the most important thing about proper technique, playing it clear and without stalling?
Well, of course.. "Playing the guitar well" is something relative..it could change from person to person..One could say.. "yeah that guy really plays good"..the other one "no..no sense.."
But when it comes to "playing the guitar proper".. there is no relativity..
If you are trying to play a melody for example @ 150bpm..and cannot reach the metronome..it means "you cannot do it yet.." and this isnt relative..

...I looked up the article Mike Campese wrote tonite.. it is called "Paganini Caprice #16 ,Part 3".. well mike campese says "All of these areas are great for building your technique"..isnt it shame..telling this while one is not able to play it proper either..

Please listen the fast version of Part 3.. Mike cannot play it @ that tempo..it is clearly seen..the pick strokes are never even.. it is really a bad performance.. and I think..this is not RELATIVE either.. because thats not my OPINION..It's not succesful and that is the reality.. this is a professional forum..TURNING A BLIND EYE to things like that is sth nonsense I think..

This is just a crticism..if we are here for making things better..we should point out THE MISTAKES and BAD ONES..

Please..write your opinion about.. that part.. I do want to know if someone can say.. "No, mike campese played it proper..that is very good".. Please write sth..

I know forum admins will say "this kinda things are not welcomed here, please do not talk bad..about him"
But I'm saying again.. I'm not telling bad things about him.. I just listened the record.. and saw that.. its not succesful.. I'm talking about the truth..and wondering your opinions

Thank you=)

Why don't you read the replies you got last time?

People have a lot of respect for Mike because he contributes great articles, He has opened for Yngwie Malmsteen 2 tours. Plus Spin Doctors, KC and the Sunshine Band, Shotgun Messiah,Lizzy Borden, Vinnie Moore,Kip Winger,Dokken,Sebastian Bach,Rik Emmett, the members of Yes and Asia,Michael Shenker and others. He has recorded over 15 albums. He shreds hard.

Just like the other one, this one will be closed.
If all you got out of the article is that you dislike the performance Mike recorded, I guess the article wasn´t for you. It almost looks as if you´re missing out on the fact that the main part is a Mike´s transcription and walk-through on how to play the Caprice.
Also, it´s about the way you express your opinion.

Regarding the thing you said in the other article, about "he should take great pains recording the soundfiles"... sure, that would make sense. At the same time, keep in mind that all authors are contributing stuff for free, and sometimes might lack the time to spend hours getting that perfect take.
So anyway, just like the other thread, this one is closed.
