Check out "scenes" and "introduction" by Marty Friedman.
Buckethead - Colma
Garsed - Big Sky
Take you pick any track from either of those albums will do.
Steve Vai- Tender Surrender, Sisters, Touching Tongues, Burnin Down The Mountain
Tommy Emmanuel- Endless Road, Angelina, Those Who Wait, I've Always Thought of You, Mombasa, Drivetime (many more)
Joe Satriani- Until we Say Goodbye
Brett Garsed- Drowning, Brothers
Eric Johnson- East Wes
There are a lot of relaxing guitar instrumentals. I really like smooth jazz guitar, I find it very relaxing and also very impressive.

Electric Gypsy - Andy Timmons is a must listen chill out track![]()
satriani's version of sleepwalk is pretty relaxing. Can't remember who did the original though.
I see alot of responses have leaned towards the shredders of the guitar world which is probably fitting given the request was from a guy called Thrash Man
I'll throw a curveball in and give some diversity:
Jerry Douglas-Little Martha (allman Bros cover). Absolutely beautiful acoustic slide work.
Allman Bros-In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
Garcia/Grisman-Grateful Dawg, Arabia
Strunz and Farah-Balada, Levantina
Good point jackaroe.
How about some classical numbers.
Cavantina by John Williams is sublime.
Manuel Barreuco playing Villa-Lobos - Suite populaire bresilienne is very chilled and soothing.
