I have heard that if you do not warm up before playing guitar than it will be harder to play certain songs. If this is true, then can someone give me some feedback on how to warm up in a good way and maybe some tabs of how you warm up?

some people swear by it, some don't.
Do a search and you'll find a lot of info about warming up.
Ok, alot of people don't care about the warm up. I used to play many hours everyday without any kind of warm up. My goal for many years was to be a pro guitar player. For the last 11 months I haven't been able to play one single hour without alot of pain in my hands. I don't want to scare you but to point out the importance of WARMING UP. So basically warm up before playing and do the same procedure when your finished. Good luck!
most of the time if i just pick up the guitar without warming up i usually play quite sloppily then i just end up warming up, so warm up before playing.
the only way to exit.. is going piece by piece..
Best advice I ever got for warming up was from Dave Martone. He uses chinese excercise balls. You can find them in Asian cultural centers that most cities have for about 5-10 bucks. Worth EVERY penny. As for warming up or not, it kinda depends on your expectations and goals. If you want to make the most of your practice and playing guess what? If you have played the songs you are about to play a 1000 times and don't care how it is done as long as the gig gets finished then don't. If you can make up a warm up routine for yourself that is somewhere in the 5-30min range you'll be happy you did. Check out EricV's awesome 3 part series in the articles section.
