Hi guys and gals.
I was just wondering what half-picking is? Did a quick search on the forum but couldn't find any threads. A quick explanation and maybe a little example would be great!
Cheers

Not too sure how useful it is, but there's a video on youtube titled "half picking lick lesson"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwFDc5TWimg
sorry if it's completely irrelevant, the sound on my computer isn't working
anyway hope it's useful
Pick half the notes, legato the rest.
I'm not sure what the point is? Maybe I'm missing something.
Ahhh! That's it! Thanks you guys, one of those techniques that Paul Gilbert loves.
Like this monster-lick from technical difficulties http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efq_l...eature=related
Didn't know there was a name for these type of licks![]()

Half picking: Nice technique, paul gilbert is the king in that technique, is alternate picking with legato, another player that use this technique is scott stine if anyone want some licks mail me. tatutytu@hotmail.com
I wasn't aware that it was actually a technique on it's own lol
btw I would consider Shawn Lane to be the King of Half-picking.
Someone needs to write a dictionary of picking techniques![]()
