Cool thread. I didn't know there'd be so many people thinking deeply about afrocuban on this forum.

For me, its taken years listening to Salsa to wrap my head around what the bass and percussion are doing, and its only been in the last two years that I feel I'm getting it. I understand intellectually, feel it in my bones, now its a matter of arranging in it, and that will take many years to master.
