Jim Marshall has died.

Living all my life in West London (which is only a few miles from Jim’s original shop), I grew up with the sound and the look of Marshall heads and combos. More recently I also met Jim who kindly looked at a rare old Marshall combo for me, and actually confirmed that he could tell that it was one where he’d covered the cab and soldered the circuit board himself in 1964. So I have quite close and fond memories not only of using early Marshall amps, but also fond memories of Jim, who a lovely humble guy.
