The thought just came to me again on how you can approach this there are two ways you can approach chromatic approach notes the examples above are you can approach it the safe way which starting on the root note of a chord just to play safe with it. Theres an outside way and a inside way because this time your not starting on an outside note your starting on an inside note that within the scale.For example, in the key C an A minor triad A C E

I've started this reply several times. Yes I understand you are working on chromatics and in and out notes. Where are you going with this?

It's like you skipped over the basics and intermediate and jumped into advanced theory. but, keep asking basic questions. I seem to remember you were active several years back and have been gone for awhile.

So we can help -- are you playing with other people, are you playing songs, or are you happy with just the theory? Where are you on your music road? Your profile does not give us a lot.
