All kidding aside Kotzen is a great guitar player , i was checking out the power tab for the "Kotzen blues jam" posted , and i knoticed it has some good blues scale patterns , here's the one i know as it corresponds to the A minor Pentatonic Box...
In regards to the Kotzen "Playing Style" Power Tab , on this thread, is seems Dmaj7 arps ,work well over E9 , and A9 .
This is a good Dmaj7 arp pattern , that seems to work on the progression.
Hey Spin 2513 ! why you don´t make a "Kotzen Jam" on powertab with these arps?????? and of course with your own style too !!
Regards
I'll give that a try , the progression is only E9, A9, E9 ,B9, A9,
There are many choices of tonalitys .
One thing i knoticed is Jason , and some other players do wide stretches , for pentatonics . Where as i don't do stretches ,or Tapping, i sweep pick ,and slide notes ,instead. So, imeadiately , i'm thinking of using a different patterns than the ones transcribed.
I do something short on that , i'm off tomorrow, i've got to change the Alternater on my car , then , i'll work on some cool , Maj 7 minor7, dominant 7 and 9 Arps , to play on that , little blues.
Hopefully i won't electrocute my self ,as i almost did once , not realizing a car battery packs 80 Amps! I was thinking it was like House current , which is 10 or 15 amps , it's okay i'm warry . ,.
Here's that little jam , i was working on .
I erased the tab and used the rhythm track ,from the previous post . Those Tabs Jayson was posting were a real kick in the a-
check it out , tell me what you think ...
Hey Spin !! Very cool man !!! i like it .
Really cool ideas on your Kotzen Jam. I like the sweeps "a la Gambale", great !!
Thanks friend.![]()
The fast bit is sweeping right Spin? heh... I can't sweep![]()
Could you be there?
'Cause I'm the one
who waits for you...
Or are you Unforgiven II?
Hey Spin Nice job on the kotzen thing the licks are great but your note values are wrong but good job.Jason
Hey that's great man!
I'm curious - is this just a powertab thing or can you actually play this? I would love to hear it!
Man.....I'm overwhelmed by how stuff I have to learn / practice! There's not enough time.....maybe if I cut my sleep time down to 2 hours a night instead of 4......![]()

Thanks alot guys ,
I have alot to learn about Power Tab ,but i guss i'll figure it out , as far as editing, and note values go.
.Russ said :I'm curious - is this just a powertab thing or can you actually play this? I would love to hear it!
With power Tab , i'm looking at it like overdubbing . So, i wrote the riffs at that speed , and can play them, and they are actually simple patterns for sweep picking , in the way of which they fall on the fretboard.
When it comes to playing the Riffs all in a row , i would break it up a little more , as far as phrasing goes , in a live improv.
I really liked the one scale in Jason's "Kotzen Style" Power Tab
, and how it worked over the A9 chord.
This is the Pattern and how it compares to an A Mixolydian pattern ,on the 12th fret. It's a good "Turn around " riff
Right on.
Hey you know, sometimes, communicating in this way, (written word only), I kinda worry about how the "tone" of something I write will be felt / taken...
Meaning: When I wrote something like, "I'm curious - can you play this?", I hope you know I wasn't "challenging" you or anything like that....not even a little bit....hehe...
I just thought that I'd really dig hearing an mp3 or something of that being played....![]()
