    can not write songs...

    Hello to everyone...
I am an aspiring musician, and i am having a problem here.
I've been playing some tunes i made up, and somehow i always leave them unfinished, because there is something that does not sound well.
I have been studying guitar for a little while, lil' bit of technique, chords, arpeggios, scales and that stuff, aswell as the music theory, but i spend many nights without getting a good tune out of my guts, my soul or my mind.
Most of them i make by ear, not knowing exactly the notes i am playing, and they seem fine, but i still dont like them that much... first i come up with a nice sweet harmony, and then i play a melody over it.
some are ok, but none i really like.
I need help, because i feel so lost in here.
Mayber there is something i dont know! lol... actually there must be a million things. I meant, there may something i can not do.

by the way, some articles have really helped me, and encouraged me to conotinue playin'... specially from gunni and eric V... thank you guys!!
The tritone substitution seems intriguing also.

Find a good rhythem , then play it through some chords from something else .

Try to write songs with just two good riffs not 20 . Listen to the rhythm more than notes , what rhythm does Metal follow ? the Allman Bros use the Bo Diddly beat , as does Ac/DC at times .
You got the Texas Shuffle , and , Jimmy Pages Blue rhythms.
Borrow riffs and play them i different keys with different rhythms . That's the best advice i can give you .

Just Write, you're always gonna throw away more stuff than u actually keep, espically early on.
Writing comes more naturally to some than others, but it's something u can improve, but it takes work. It's no diffrent than learning to play.
Best advice is just listen To Everything, study what's going on, and just keep tossing something out. Maybe find someone to write with and toss ideas back and forth. This works well for some people. I personally do better on my own, but some people do better with a partner.
