I heard rumours of Eddie Van Halen, but I don't see that working too well. How about Al Di Meola? Any thoughts as to who the third G will/should be?

Jennifer Batten.
Her new album is near completion (I'll post a link to the review as soon as I get a copy), her track record is amazing, her technique beyond compare, and her performance dazzling. That she is not considered among the top elite players is near criminal, in my not-so-humble view, and a clear indication of the sexism that still exists in the industry (including not only overt sexism, but the "passive sexism" that exists even among many an otherwise enlightened player).
If you've not heard her 2 solo albums, check them out ASAP. You WILL be amazed.
In my opinion, they need to get someone that is really popular that pulls in a slightly different audience than Vai and Satch would normally draw. Yngwie was a great choice this time around since he has a very loyal fanbase.
It might be one of the folks on Vai's record label. That would be my first guess.
Batten is great, and she was the GIT student of the year a long time ago, not too mention she is in Jeff Beck's band. She needs to publish more material! She's been around for nearly 20 years now and only 2 solo albums!

THeyre playing here in November with Fripp in the lineup once again.
i'd like to see paul gilbert. He has the same sort of status and level of following as Yngwie and i think it'd go down just as successfully. i also think his playing style would compliment vai and satch's very well if they were to do an ensemble or something like that.
"Remember, it's all good, everything goes and there ain't no damned rules or boundaries. So get off! Tear it a fresh ***, tear it hard, rip gaping holes in it! Make tracks, leave marks!
"forever stronger than all" - Dimebag Darrell
Well, I would like to see some people who would probably never agree to do it if asked. Nuno Bettencourt, Blues Saraceno, Reb Beach, and Richie Kotzen. They are all more "song" players now than instrumentals. Andy Timmons would rock. Batten would be fantastic. I have never really liked much of her solo stuff, but she is a phenom. Better than most of the guitar greats. Gary Hoey would be fun.
i'd like to see micheal romeo, although that might not work lol

paul gilbert , gary moore or alex skolnick....that would be soooo awesome ! i hope they will play in germany this time....
my thoughts exactly metaljustice. I think it'd be cool to see Alexi Laiho do it, but I don't think that's his deal. I wonder if Mark Knopler would. I wonder if Jake E Lee would.

randy rhoads and jimi hendrix. now those guys would definitely draw crowds
Again, in the "never gonna happen" category, but Slash
Never gonna happen, but I think Dimebag would draw a different crowd. He's not necissarily a instrumentalist, but it would be pretty cool
Paul
Mattias Eklundh would be my first but it will probably be Yngwie. I think Mattias is more then worthy enough to be on stage with Vai and Satch.
