A fingering problem

Hi,

I'm just curious how you play something like this:

I just made that up as an example.
The problem is, when shifting to the next string, do you kind of "roll" the finger from the 6 on the A string to the 6 of the D string, or do you use two fingers, for example the pinky for the first 6 and the ring finger for the second 6.
I think, the second way is more accurate, but since I'm rather a beginner I would like to know your opinions.

Alternatively I would perhaps lay a barré with my pinky at 6th fret to play the forth note, but keep the rest of the fingering the same.

How do you mute the lower string when you roll the finger? I try to palm mute all lower strings that I don't play at this moment and use the ring- and little finger of my right hand to mute the higher strings. But I the problem is that muting with the palm a kinda inaccurate and with finger-mutig I sometimes accidentally do artificial harmonics.
I think it's just a practice-thing.

But I guess it's really better to roll on things like that:

'mute' is fine - the finger that rolls slightly touches the string it rolled off from. This is quite tricky to achieve in the beginning but in the long run it's a very important technique.
