anyone know a guitar chord website that can handle open tunings?
i have tried chordbook.com and chordfind.com and while both are excellent, i have been trying to get into slide guitar and those sites dont get along with open tunings. anyone know a site that does?

Guitar Chord Explorer
http://www.michaelhogg.btinternet.co.../index_big.htm
This site, Guitar Chord Explorer, was active a couple years ago and it found chords in a few basic tunings. I thought the concept was very good and I downloaded the software to run it (for free), but I never experimented much with it. Let me know if you find it useful and how you use it. I guess I was never sure how to integrate the tool into my music. The creator of the tool was a friendly gentleman who took time to communicate with me and answser some questions, too.

Here is a chord generator that will let you call up many different tunings. Not sure which open tuning you like, but I'm sure you can find it at this site.

thank you jade, that was very useful. i have been learning to play slide blues which is generally done in an open tuning and i'd like to try and sprinkle some chord variations in there. another thing i like to do is learn as many unusual inversions as i can to help me build a better concept of the fretboard

When you get to Guitar Chord Explorer, look at the bottom of the window, and you will see a tool that will let you set the note for each string to work the program in an alternate tuning. For example, you can set each string to a specific note, e.g. DADGAD, etc.

Take a look at www.looknohands.com. It has scales, chords, and alternate tunings...
