Greg Howe Tabs

Hi I'm new here, the names Frenchie.

I'm just getting into shred playing and am totally astounded by an American guy called Greg Howe. Does anyone have any inside knowledge they can share to give me a handle on his style...this dude is impossible to work out.

I've just got a program called powertab, does anyone know a good place to get Howe tabs in this program?

Any help would be appreciated.

Best,

Frenchie.

And you can get some good very good tabs by Simon Badham at the official Howe-Site, www.greghowe.com
Those are in PDF-format

Eric,

Thanks for all the info....I also found your excellent Greg Howe article by searching this site (very cool being able to do that). So thanks you have helped me a lot!

Did you study with Greg? You really have his style down!

Best,

Frenchie

Hi there.
Glad I was able to help.
Nope, I didnīt study with him, I wish I had. I just listened to his music a LOT, and tried to figure out some of his ideas.

This past weekend, I visited my good friend Ricky G. Heīs another player whoīs very much influenced by Howe, and heīs got that stuff down big time !

For more Howe-licks and lessons, do a search on the forums. Jason just recently posted some very nice Howe-type licks. Also, check out www.essentialguitarist.com
They had a feature on Greg, and also, there is a review of "Introspection", with TABs of some of the licks from that album.
The site is run by Simon Badham, who did some awesome, very accurate Howe-Tabs. Simon used to hang out at the ibreathe-forums, too, but now he is kinda MIA.
Hope this helps
Eric

Hi Eric,

Dude, you know the best places to find out info on Greg. I had not got a clue about Howe's style a few days ago, now I have loads of stuff to absorb...you really are the man. Thanks alot.

Who is this Simon Badham guy?...never heard of him till I found that site you mentioned.

I'd like to hear more about your your pal Ricky G too...any place I can find more info on him? If he's got the Howe sound down he might be a guy worth listening too.

Thanks again Eric,

Best Frenchie.

Hi there

Im glad the links are helpful.

Simon Badham is a guitarist who runs the Essential Guitarist site. He is a huge Howe-fan and did some awesome TABs of Gregīs music.

Ricky G. is a kick-*** guitar player and good friend of mine. I just played a great show with him last friday. You can find more info and soundfiles at www.rickygarcia.com
He also has done some great interviews for JemFest-Radio ( www.jemfest.com , click the "Radio" button in the upper right corner ), incl. one with Greg Howe ( we also did a video interview with Steve Morse together ).
Check it out
Eric

Hi Guy's

Yeah, it's been a while since I posted here. Thanks for all the nice comments EV...really apprecitaed!

Frenchie, check out www.Jemfest.com, Ricky Garcia has put together some great interviews. The Howe interview will be especially enlightening for you, and of course you've already checked out EV's Howe breakdown (which is superb!).

Here's a couple of other players you might want to check out if you like Howe-esque fusion.

www.prashantaswani.com
www.alessandrobenvenuti.com

Alessandro has just finished a feature for the essential guitarist site. An awesome player to watch out for!

Cheers Si.

Hi everybody,
this is my 1st time to post in this great forum..and i m totally new member..Anyway..i m really crazy obout Greg Howe's fusion solos..and could you please help me find out how he does all the solos? Does he do it spontaneously?
Now i m trying to understand fusion...could u please tell me how should i start to familiarise my playing with fusion technics? and what are the typical sequencing/phrasing generally used to generate them apart from the neo classical phrasing technics (like Yngwie n so on). Thank you

P/S - BIG thank you man for the links you posted earlier on...You help a lot !
